Moises Vidal Ribeiro

Mois├ęs Vidal Ribeiro received D.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Campinas, Brazil, 2005. He was a visiting scholar at University of California in Santa Barbara in 2004. He has been an Assistant Professor at Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF) since 2007 and member of Management Committee of the Brazilian National Institute of Science and Technology for Electric Energy (INERGE) since 2009. He was the co-chair of the Electrical Engineering Post-Graduation Program at UFJF, 2009-2011, and a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the UFJF, 2009-2012. He was a Fulbright Visiting Assistant Professor at Stanford University in 2011 and at Princeton University in 2012. He was the General Chair of the 2010 IEEE ISPLC, chair of the 2007 Workshop Internacional Sobre Power Line Communications - Brazil, and the principal guest editor for two Special Issues in the EURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing. He served as the Secretary of the IEEE ComSoc TC-PLC in 2010-2011. He was a TPC chair of the CBA 2008, ISPLC 09, Globecom 2012 and member of TPC of several Brazilian and international conferences, such as IEEE ICC, IEEE Globecom, IEEE SmartGridCom, and IEEE ISPLC. He is a member of the steering committee of the ISPLC. Currently, he leads a group of 30 researchers at UFJF and is in charge with several R&D projects related to PLC (2008-2013, US$ 4M). He has deposit over 11 patents and published over 100 papers and book chapters in journals and conferences. His research interests are signal processing, digital communications, power line communication, smart grid communication, and smart grids.
