J. Huber, M.D., Ph.D., was born on 31 May 1946 in Bruck/Leitha, Lower Austria. He graduated from the University of Vienna, Vienna, Austria, in 1973. He received training in surgery, paediatrics, and internal medicine at the Kaiser Franz Josef Hospital of the City of Vienna. Since 1980, he has been an Assistant Professor at the University of Vienna, Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics. He was an Associate Professor at the University of Vienna, Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics in 1985. Huber has been Head of the Divisino for Gynecological Endocrinology and Infertility Treatment at the University of Vienna since 1992, and in 1995 he became Chairman of the Department of Gynaecology, University of Vienna, General Hospital of Vienna. He received medical training at the midwifery school, Zurich, Switzerland, and at the Department of Gynecology, University of Basel. Huber is a Visiting Professor at John Hopkins University as well as George Washington University. He is a Member of the Editorial Board of “Wiener Medizinsche Wochenschrift” and of “Clinical Pharmacology”. He is also a Member of the Board of Directors of Austrian Society for IVF, and of the Board of Directors of Austrian Society of Endocrinology. Moreover, Huber is an Executive Member of the Austrian Society for Contraception. From 1997 to 2001 he was a Member of the Supreme Austrian Health Organisation (Oberster Sanitätsrat). He is an Expert of the Austrian Parliament (Nationalrat) for Assisted Reproduction and of the Special Committee for Contraceptives in the German Bundestag. Through 2001 –2007, he was Chairman of the National Committee of Bioethics of the Austrian Government.
