Roman G. Novikov serves presently as Directeur de Recherche at CNRS at École Polytechnique, France. He received his Ph.D. degree from M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University in 1990. He has also the following scintific degrees: Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches, Université de Nantes, 1996; Doctor of Physicomathematical Sciences, St. Petersburg Branch of V.A. Steklov Mathematical Institute, 1998. His scientific interests include inverse scattering, integral geometry, inverse boundary value problems, tomography, and theory of solitons.
