Yuri Latushkin

Yuri Latushkin was born in Odessa, Ukraine, in 1956. He received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in mathematics from Odessa State University, Odessa, Ukraine, in 1978 and 1982, respectively. He was a Research Fellow at the Institute of Economics and the Institute of Hydroacoustic of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences until 1990, when he emigrated to the USA. Since 1992, he is with the Mathematics Department of the University of Missouri-Columbia. Presently, Latushkin works as a Professor. His main interests are in applied analysis: infinite-dimensional dynamical systems and differential equations, operator theory, operator semigroups, control theory, nonlinear partial differential equations, hydrodynamics, Lyapunov exponents, multiplicative ergodic theorem, transfer operator, and stability of traveling waves. He is a Member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Evolution Equations.
