Shahed Hossain

Shahed Hossain, who holds M.B.B.S., M.S., and M.B.A. degrees, has been working as an Associate Scientist in icddr, b since 2000. Earlier, he worked as a Public Health Physician and as a Consultant to WHO, Bangladesh, and he worked with some nongovernmental organizations. He obtained his medical graduation from Rajshahi University, Bangladesh, and completed his M.A. degree in health development from Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand, 1996. He also completed another M.A. degree in business administration focusing on health management form the same university in 1995. Hossain has more than 30 years of experience as a Health Care Provider and Research Scientist. He is a trained systematic reviewer and works in collaboration with the EPOC Norwegian Centre, EPPI Centre, Campbell-Cochrane Collaboration, to conduct the capacity building in systematic reviews. His areas of research include health systems research such as operations, implementation and scaling up research, evidence to practice, health service utilization and equity, monitoring and evaluation, particularity in the fields of reproductive health, and infectious diseases like tuberculosis and leprosy.
