Sebastian Feliu

Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, Spain

Sebastian Feliu Jr. received the graduate in chemistry (metallurgy) with the highest marks in 1987 from the Complutense University of Madrid in 1987. In 1990, received the Ph. D. from the same university with a thesis dealing with the corrosion mechanisms of zinc-rich coatings copigmented with Di-Iron Phosphide. He had a one-year stay at the internationally recognized surface and interface group (Professor J. E. Castle) of the University of Surrey, UK. Since 1995, he has been a scientific researcher at the Materials Engineering, Degradation and Durability Department of the CENIM(CSIC), where he is mainly involved in the application of the surface analysis techniques, mainly X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), to study corrosion problems. Actually, he is working with Professors Feliu and Pardo in the relation between the surface chemistry of the Mg alloys and their corrosion resistance. He is the first author of 27 articles and coauthor of 54 articles in journals considered inside the Science Scitation Index (SCI), 18 of these articles are in journals inside the 75% of highest SCI of their area. He shared with the Editorial Board of The Open Corrosion Journal. He regularly serve as referee for top leading journals, like Surface and coating technology or materials chemistry and physics.
