Ming-Jen Tan currently works at the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He holds a B.S. in engineering and a Ph.D. degree from Imperial College London, London, UK. Tan served as a JSPS Fellow at Kyoto University in 1991 and Science and Technology Agency (STA) Fellow at the Mechanical Engineering Laboratory in A.I.S.T. (M.I.T.I.), Tsukuba, Japan, from 1992 to 1993. He also worked as a Visiting Scientist at Columbia University and Fulbright Research Scholar at UCLA and Northwestern University in USA. His research interests include light metals, metal composites, extrusion, and superplastic forming.
