Carla Lucini was born in 1959 (Naples, Italy) and received a Natural Science degree (Magna cum Laude, 1982) from the University of Naples Federico II. She received a Dottorato di Ricerca (Ph.D. degree) in comparative morphology of domestic animals in 1988 at the University of Naples Federico II. She serves as a Researcher at the Department of Biological Structures, Functions and Technology of the University of Naples Federico II (1990–2002) and as an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of University of Naples Federico II (since November 2002). Her main research interests include the presence and distribution of regulatory peptides and neurotrophic factors in the digestive system of adult and developing vertebrates; the adult fish brain: mapping of S100, GDNF family ligands, neurotrophins, and their specific receptors. She has been teaching courses on histology and embryology of veterinary medicine; anatomy of fish of veterinary medicine and technology of animal production; anatomy of domestic animals of technology of animal production.
