Martin Krejsa studied construction and transport structures at Faculty of Civil Engineering, Brno University of Technology, Brno, Czech Republic, from 1984 to 1989 with thesis entitled “Non-Linear FEM.” Krejsa served as designer of steel structures in Vítkovice Machinery Group, Ostrava, Czech Republic, in 1989–1991; Assistant Professor at the Department of Mining and Environmental Engineering (later the Institute of Civil Engineering and Geotechnics) at the Faculty of Mining and Geology, VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava, Ostrava, Czech Republic, in 1991–1996; Assistant Professor at the Department of structures, Faculty of Civil Engineering, VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava, Ostrava, Czech Republic, in 1997–2000; Assistant Professor at the Department of Structural Mechanics, Faculty of Civil Engineering, VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava, Ostrava, Czech Republic, in 2000–2010; Associated Professor and Head of the Department of Structural Mechanics, Faculty of Civil Engineering, VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava, Ostrava, Czech Republic, from 2011 till now. In 2001, Krejsa received the Ph.D. degree from Faculty of Civil Engineering, VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava, Ostrava, Czech Republic, in theory of structures with thesis entitled “Simulation-Based Reliability Assessment for Structural Engineers.” Krejsa received the habilitation degree in 2011 from Faculty of Civil Engineering, VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava, Ostrava, Czech Republic, in theory and design of buildings with habilitation thesis entitled “Utilization of the Direct Optimized Probabilistic Calculation in the Field of Structural Reliability Assessment” and was awarded title of qualification “Associate Professor.”
