Rajendra A. Badwe

Rajendra A. Badwe was born in May 1956, India. He received his M.B.B.S. degree in 1979 and his M.S. degree in general surgery in 1982. His specialization is in breast cancer surgeon. Currently, he is the Director of Tata Memorial Centre and a Professor and the Head of the Department of Surgical Oncology, Tata Memorial Hospital. He received many awards and honors including UICC Reach to Recovery, UICC, Lisbon, 2003 International Medal; Shushrut Award, for outstanding surgical contribution, Mumbai Medical Foundation, 2007; C V Menon Gold Medal for best surgical research in India, 1994; Joglekar Gold Medal for best research paper, 1993; Dorab Tata Scholar 1974–1978; International Society of Diseases fellowship in oesophageal cancer of esophagus scholarship, 1989, Professor Akiyama, Tokyo, Japan; Agashe Gold Medal for record in mathematics, 1972-1973; open merit scholarship , State Government, 1972-1973; National Merit Scholarship, Government of India, 1972. His research interests include breast cancer, circulating tumor cells, DNA in solid tumors, clinical research methodology, and epidemiological research in oncology. Moreover, he is a Reviewer for Lancet, BJC, Cancer, International Journal of Surgery, Annals of Oncology, and the Indian Journal of Cancer Surgery. He is an Editorial Board Member of The Breast, International Journal of Surgery, and Mammology. His number of publications is 70.
