Her areas of research include welding of metals of commercial importance; enhancing the life of tribological components through surface engineering; controlling residual stress and distortion in weld joints; tensile, fatigue, and fracture toughness characterization; manufacturing related issues of casting, welding, and surfacing ; development welding/hardfacing electrodes; and failure analysis of mechanical components.
