Joaquin Pérez

Joaquin Perez received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in telecommunications engineering from Universitat Politecnica de Valencia, Spain, in 2004 and 2009, respectively. From 2003 to 2009, he has been a Research Assistant at the Valencia Nanophotonics Technology Center (NTC) of the Universitat Politecnica de Valencia, Spain, in wireless photonic integration communication systems and ultrawideband radio over fiber systems and worked on the European projects (FP5 IST TOPRATE, FP6 IST UROOF, and FP7 IST UCELLS). In 2010, he joined the Optical Communications Research Group (OCRG), Northumbria Communications Research Lab (NCRLab) in Northumbria University, UK, as Research Fellow. His research interests include free space optics systems, microwave photonics, optical wireless communications, and optical access networks research activities. Since 2014, he is with the Optical and Quantum Communications Group (OQCG) at ITEAM research institute of the Universitat Politecnica de Valencia, Spain, as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow “Juan de la Cierva.”
