El Mustapha Bahassi

El Mustapha Bahassi received his Ph.D. degree in molecular biology and biotechnology from the Free University of Brussels (ULB) in Belgium in 1996. He then joined the Department of Molecular Oncology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical center in Dallas for a postdoctoral training. In 1999, he moved to the University of Cincinnati as a Research Scientist, and in 2004, he was appointed as a research faculty at the Department of Cell and Cancer Biology at the University of Cincinnati. In 2011, he joined the Division of Hematology/Oncology, Department of Internal Medicine, University of Cincinnati. His laboratory’s primary research interests are in the area of cell cycle checkpoints and DNA repair mechanisms and the role that defects in these mechanisms play in the etiology of cancer.
