Preecha P. Yupapin received his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from City University, London, UK, in 1993. He was a Postdoc Research Fellow at the City University in 1995, researching in fiber optic devices for sensor and communication. He is an Adjunct Professor in applied physics at the Department of Applied Physics, Faculty of Science, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), Bangkok, Thailand. He has authored/coauthored 35 books and chapters, 600 research journal papers, where more than 300 of them have been published worldwide. His research interests are either in experimental or theoretical works, in small-scale optics, optical sensors and metrology, optical communication and signal processing, quantum information, nanoenergy, bioscience and bioengineering, and human engineering. Yupapin is a Member of the Thai Institute of Physics (TIP). He was a President of the Optical Society of America, Thailand Chapter (OSA-Thailand) between 2002 and 2004, and he has been on OSA Advisory Board since 2012. He has been a Committee Member of SEATPA and SEAcORE, which are based in Singapore, since 2012.
