Sergio Pantano

Institut Pasteur of Montevideo, Uruguay

Sergio Pantano graduated in physics at the University of San Luis, Argentina and obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in biophysics at the International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA, Trieste, Italy). After four years working as an independent researcher at the Venetian Institute for Molecular Medicine (Padua, Italy), he became a Group Leader at the Institut Pasteur of Montevideo, Uruguay in 2007. His research at the Laboratory of Biomolecular Simulations focuses on the development of multiscale schemes able to extend the time and size scales of computer simulations, especially for molecular assemblies where electrostatics and solvation effects are dominant as the structure and dynamics of nucleic acids.
