Swadeshmukul Santra works as an Associate Professor at the NanoScience Technology Center, Department of Chemistry and Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences, University of Central Florida, Orlando, Fla, USA. He received his Ph.D. degree in 1998 in chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, Kanpur, India and pursued postdoctoral studies at the University of Florida, Gainesville, Fla, USA in Chemistry and Materials Science and Engineering Departments. Prior to joining the UCF faculty in 2005, he was appointed as a Research Assistant Professor at UF Department of Neurological Surgery. Dr. Santra is a chemist with interdisciplinary research experience, and he has been actively working in the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology over 10 years. He has published more than 57 peer-reviewed research articles in reputed international journals and 7 book chapters, delivered 30 invited talks, and has been awarded 8 US patents. Dr. Santra’s research is funded by various funding agencies that include National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, US Air Force Office of Sponsored Research, Florida Department of Citrus, Environmental Research and Education Foundation and industry. Dr. Santra has successfully organized NanoFlorida symposium (www.nanoflorida.org) for the first time in the State of Florida.
