Matthew B. Wheeler

Matthew B. Wheeler is a Professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Ill, USA, and has a from Colorado State University, Colo, USA, in physiology and biophysics. He has conducted more than 25 years of research on embryo biology, stem cell biology, cloning, transgenic livestock, and microfluidics and tissue engineering. Dr. Wheeler has developed and characterized genetically modified swine with increased milk production and weaning weights. He has published numerous peer-reviewed scientific papers, book chapters, proceedings, and technical articles. Dr. Wheeler has been an invited speaker at numerous national and international meetings. He is a Past President of the International Embryo Transfer Society. Dr. Wheeler’s responsibilities at the University of Illinois include teaching and research in developmental biology, biotechnology, and reproductive biology at the Departments of Animal Sciences, Veterinary Clinical Medicine, and Bioengineering. He is also a Faculty Member at the Institute for Genomic Biology and the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology.
