Sulaiman W. Harun

Sulaiman Wadi Harun received his B.Eng degree in electrical and electronics systems engineering from Nagaoka University of Technology, Japan, in 1996. He worked in several Japanese companies in Malaysia from 1996 to 2000, before embarking on his higher degree. He obtained his M.S. and Ph.D degrees from Department of Physics, University of Malaya, in 2001 and 2004, respectively. Since 2006, he is an Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Malaya, in 2006. He is also the Head of the fiber devices research group at the Photonics Research Center, University of Malaya, where his research focuses on optical amplifiers and fiber lasers. In 2005, he received the Young Scientist Award from the URSI and to date has published almost 100 publications in international journals. He is a regular Member of IEICE, Japan.
