Ivo Iavicoli obtained his degree (cum laude) in medicine and his specialty cum laude in occupational medicine at the Catholic University of Sacred Heart in Rome, Italy. He received his Ph.D. degree in occupational medicine and industrial hygiene from the University of Milan, Milan, Italy. Currently, he is an Associate Professor of occupational medicine at the University of Naples Federico II, where he is involved in research and several teaching activities and where he is an occupational physician and industrial toxicologist. His scientific area includes occupational health, particularly industrial hygiene and industrial toxicology. He is a member of several scientific societies and is a member of the scientific committees on occupational toxicology and toxicology of metals of the International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH) and Secretary of the ICOH Scientific Committee on Nanomaterial Workers' Health. He authored more than 250 publications on national and international journals.
