K. R. Justin Thomas

K. R. Justin Thomas graduated from the American College, Madurai, Tamilnadu, India, with his M.S. degree in chemistry. Then, he went on to do research in chemistry at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India, with a specialization in inorganic heterocycles. After obtaining his Ph.D. degree, he joined the Sophisticated Analytical Instrumentation Facility at IIT Madras with a DST Sponsored Young Scientist Scheme Award. After a two‐year stay at IIT Madras, he moved to the Institute of Chemistry, Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan, to take a postdoctoral assignment. He served for five years as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Taiwan before moving to the Department of Chemistry, University of Massachusetts Amherst, Amherst, MA, USA, for a year as a Research Associate. Before occupying his current position in 2006, he returned to Taipei and served as a Senior Postdoctoral Fellow for two years. He is currently working as an Assistant Professor of chemistry at the Indian Institute of Technology. His research work is focused on the development of organic and organometallic materials suitable for application in electronic devices such as organic light‐emitting diodes and dye‐sensitized solar cells. He has published nearly ninety research papers in international journals and has coauthored five patents.
