Stephen A. Klotz trained in Infectious Disease at the University of Texas at San Antonio, Austin, Tex, USA, and is currently Interim Chief of Infectious Diseases at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center. He is interested in the basic science mechanisms of how fungi attach to humans, especially the Candida species. He is also interested in the clinical aspects of disseminated candidiasis. In addition, he is interested in the clinical aspects of care of HIV/AIDS patients, particularly in resource-poor settings. A final interest is zoonoses including hypersensitivity reactions and anaphylaxis to bites and stings.
