Sungsam Cho

Sungsam Cho was born on June 16, 1966. He works as a Lecturer at the Department of Anesthesiology, Nagasaki University School of Medicine, Sakamoto, Nagasaki, Japan. Cho received an M.D. and a Ph.D. degrees from Nagasaki University School of Medicine in 1992 and 1999, respectively. From 1996 to 1999, he was a Research Fellow at Nagasaki University School of Medicine, under the direction of Professor Koji Sumikawa (Department of Anesthesiology) and Professor Takahito Kondo (Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in Disease). He acquired the Japan Medical License in 1992, certification of the Japanese Board of Anesthesiology in 2003, and certification of the Japanese Board of Critical Care Medicine in 2008. Cho's major research interests are ischemia/reperfusion injury and pharmacological protection, hemodynamic interaction of anesthetics and cardiovascular drugs, antioxidant system, cardiothoracic anesthesia, and neurosurgical anesthesia. He serves as a Reviewer of Journal of Anesthesia since 2008.
