Kim Yeow Tshai

Kim Yeow Tshai is a chartered engineer at the Engineering Council, UK. At the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus (UNMC), Semenyih, Malaysia, Dr. Tshai is currently the Head of the Polymer Composites Research Group at the Materials, Mechanics and Structures Research Division, the Faculty of Engineering, University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus. Dr. Tshai graduated with Diploma and Advanced Diploma degrees in mechanical and manufacturing engineering from Tunku Abdul Rahman College, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and he received his Ph.D. degree in engineering and his M.S. degree (with distinction) in manufacturing systems engineering from Queen's University, Belfast, UK. Prior to joining UNMC, he has held a project engineer position at Danone, Evian, France, and served as a Postdoc Research Assistant (PDRA) at Queen's University Belfast, Belfast, UK, and an Assistant Professor at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. His research interests include constitutive materials modeling, FEA and process optimization of highly nonlinear polymeric systems, natural and synthetic polymer composites, characterization of structure-property-process relationships in processed polymers, oil and gas pipelines rehabilitation, and six sigma implementation in the IT industries.
