Leszek Malkinski

University of New Orleans, USA

Leszek Malkinski received his Ph.D. degree in physics, his main concentration was in solid state physics magnetic materials from the Institute of Physics, the Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw, Poland in 1991 and the M.S. degree in applied physics from Department of Applied Physics and Mathematics, Warsaw University of Technology, Warsaw, Poland in 1984. He is an Associate Professor of physics and materials science, Department of Physics and the Advanced Materials Research Institute, University of New Orleans, New Orleans, La, USA. Malkinski is an Editor-in-Chief of open access online journal NANOMAGNETICS versita.com/nano published by Versita, Member of Education Committee of IEEE Magnetic Society, Member of Selection Committee of the IEEE Summer School of Magnetism, and Cochair of the workshop on Multifunctional Materials. His research interests mainly focused on the effect of biomagnetism of magnetic field on mammalian cells and application of multiferroic nanoparticles in biotechnology, technology, physical properties of stimuli-responsive convolved architectures and their applications in MEMS, spintronic materials and devices, smart sensors and nondestructive testing of materials using magnetic methods, surface and interface effects in magnetic materials, and the effect of dimensional confinement on physical properties of nanomaterials.
