Tomohiko Sasase

User Biography : Tomohiko Sasase has a Ph.D. degree, and he served as a Research Scientist in the Biological/Pharmacological Research Laboratories, and Central Pharmaceutical Research Institute at Japan Tobacco Inc. science in 1997. He has become an expert on diabetic complications and has participated in several projects to develop new drugs for diabetes and its complications as a project leader. From April 2011 to April 2012, he was transferred to Project & Portfolio Management Section temporarily to manage some important projects as a Research Coordinator. During these projects, he has characterized new hereditary animal model of diabetes and its complications, Spontaneously Diabetic Torii (SDT) rats and SDT fatty rats in collaboration with their originator, Dr. Shinohara (CLEA Japan) since 1999. He received the Ph.D. degree in pharmacology at the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Shizuoka, Japan in 2006 and acquired the Pharmacist License in Japan in 1995. Tomohiko Sasase published 33 papers in peer review journals and is author of 26 abstracts in national and international conferences/workshops. He is an Associate Member of the Japanese Society of Diabetic Complications.
