Wei-Hsing Tuan National Taiwan University, Taiwan Wei-Hsing Tuan was born in Taipei, Taiwan. He received his bachelor degree from the Dept. of Metallurgy & Materials Engineering, National Cheng-Kung University on 1980; and received his master degree from the Dept. of Materials Science, National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan, on 1982. His Ph.D. degree was obtained from the Dept. of Ceramics, Leeds University, England on 1988. Wei-Hsing then spent one year at the Powder Metallurgy Lab., Max-Planck Institute, Stuttgart, Germany, for his post-doctor study. Wei-Hsing then joined the Dept. of Materials Science & Engineering of National Taiwan University on 1990. Presently, he is a professor and the director of Industry-Academic Cooperation Center. He is mainly interested in sintering, ceramic processing and ceramic-matrix composites. He has served as the executive member of the council of Chinese Society for Materials Science since 2010. He has received several awards such as Outstanding Innovation Award, National Taiwan University (2008); Outstanding Technology Transferring Award, National Science Council, Taiwan (2008, 2010).
