Vladimir Chistyakov, born in 1960, holds a Ph.D. degree in biochemistry from Russia. He serves as the Head of Experimental Mutagenesis Laboratory of Research Institute of Biology of Southern Federal University, Rostov-on-Don, Russia. Dr. Chistyakov has a 25-year professional experience in teaching, training, and research activities. As the Head of ROS Physiology Group, he took part in a project to develop drugs based on mitochondria-targeted antioxidants (Skulachev ions). His research activity is connected to the search for mechanisms of adaptogenic (including antiaging) activity of natural and synthetic antioxidants.
