Sun Jie is presently a Lecturer in the Design-Centric Curriculum, Faculty of Engineering, National University of Singapore, Singapore, having been a postdoctoral research fellow between 2005 and 2009, and has been active in the research area of mechatronic system design, artificial intelligence application in effective process control and decision making, and biomedical microfabrication. She obtained her B.S. and M.S. degrees from Dalian University of Technology, Dalian, China, and a Ph.D. degree from National University of Singapore, Singapore, 2005, in mechanical engineering, specializing in mechatronics and control. She has published over 50 papers in international journals and conferences. She has received more than 120 citations. Sun is also a regular reviewer of many international peer-reviewed journals in the area of advanced machining technology, artificial intelligence applications, and microfabrication.
