Alok Madan received his B.A. degree in psychology from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn, USA. He earned his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in clinical/medical psychology as well as MPH from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He completed his internship training at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and postdoctoral training at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Madan is specialized in the assessment and treatment of the psychosocial correlates common among individuals with chronic medical conditions. He is the Clinical Director of the Behavioral Medicine Service and Manager of the Quality & Outcomes Department at the Institute of Psychiatry. His research interests fall broadly within behavioral medicine and health.
