Fabien Delpech

University of Toulouse, France

Fabien Delpech was born in Albi, France, in October 1972. In 1998, he received his Ph.D. degree at the Laboratoire de Chimie de Coordination (LCC-CNRS) in Toulouse with Doctor Sylviane Sabo-Etienne investigating the synthesis and characterization of silane complexes. He subsequently obtained a postdoc position with Professor Rich Jordan at the University of Iowa, where he synthesized and characterized three-coordinated cationic indium complexes for catalysis purposes. In 1999, he joined the faculty at the University of Toulouse, where he is currently an Assistant Professor. He first spent seven years at the Laboratoire Hétérochimie Fondamentale et Appliquée and then joined in 2006 the Laboratoire de Physique et Chimie des Nano-Objets (Institut National des Sciences Appliquées, Université de Toulouse). His research focuses on (i) the chemistry of low-coordinated group 13-15 species, (ii) the chemistry of hybrid nanomaterials metal/silica and silicate nanograins, and (iii) the synthesis, the surface chemistry, and the applications of semiconductor nanocrystals.
