Dr. Fátima R Mena Barreto Silva is Professor of Biochemistry at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil and Chief, Section of Hormone & Signal Transduction. She received her Biochemistry degree from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil and completed pos-doctoral at the University of CAEN – Basse Normandie, France. Dr. Silva FRMB was awarded by Japan International Cooperation Agency with a fellowship to develop her studies at Japan Chemical Analysis Center, Tokyo. Also she developed some projects at University of California, Riverside – USA as a visiting scientist. She is one of the leading research experts in the Mechanism of action of hormones on diabetes and male reproduction. She has international cooperation with groups of research inside and outside of Brazil including USA and France.
