Maria Jerzykiewicz graduated in chemistry, Wroclaw University, Poland, in 1994, and received her Ph.D. degree in 1998 at the same university. She uses Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) spectroscopy for the quantitative and structural studies of different natural organic matter such as humic substances, food (oils, lipids, antioxidants, and beer), biodiesel, bioglycerol, and related substances. Her major research interests are in stable and temporary free radicals and their interaction with metal ions and antioxidants. Apart from EPR, Maria Jerzykiewicz is also interested in studies of radical reactions with usage other spectroscopic methods such as FT-IR, NMR, and UV-Vis. Since 2015 she was elected as the Coordinator of Polish Chapter of IHSS (International Humic Substances Society).
