Yan Xu is a certified ocular professional with more than 26 years of experience working for Henan Eye Institute in China. Xu graduated from Hebei Medical University in 1985 with a Master degree in ophthalmology. For several years, she has worked as an Ophthalmologist for Fourth People's Hospital in Kaifeng, Henan, China, before relocating to Henan Eye Institute in Zhengzhou, Henan, China, to work as a Professor in the fields of glaucoma and ocular pharmacology. She has published forty-seven papers in the areas of glaucoma, ocular pharmacology, and ocular microbiology that garnered the several prestigious awards from the Ministry of Personnel of China, Science and Technology Bureau of Henan Province, and the Bureau of Health of Henan Province. Her current position is the Head of Ocular Pharmacology Department in Henan Eye Institute, the Commission of Glaucoma Group in Chinese Society of Ophthalmology in Chinese Medical Association, the Expert at new drug evaluation in State Food and Drug Administration of China, and the Executive Member of the Council in Society of Pharmacology of Henan Province. She is the Member of Editorial Board Members of Chinese Journal of Ophthalmology and Editorial Board Members of Chinese Ophthalmic Research. She also is the Reviewer of Chinese Journal of Preventive Medicine and African Journal of Biotechnology.
