Annalisa De Girolamo
Annalisa De Girolamo graduated with full marks in Biology in 1997. Since 2001 she is a researcher of National Research Council (CNR) of Italy and works at the Institute of Sciences of Food Production (ISPA), Bari, in the field of mycotoxin analysis. Main research activities have dealt on: development and optimization of chromatographic and spectroscopic methods for determining mycotoxins in matrices of agri-food interest; synthesis of synthetic mediators for mycotoxins in food matrices; effect of food processing on mycotoxin content; identification in biological fluids (blood, urine) of biomarkers for a more correct evaluation of human and animal exposure to mycotoxins; strategies for decontaminating and detoxifying foods from mycotoxins; isolation and chemical characterization of phytotoxins and phytoalexins. She also organises and routinely participates to EU or international collaborative studies and proficiency tests for the validation of analytical methods for the analysis of mycotoxins in food and feed matrices.
