Roberto Brighenti

University of Parma, Italy

Roberto Brighenti was born in 1968. He received the Civil Engineering degree (summa cum laude) from the University of Parma, Italy, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Bologna, Italy, in 1993 and 1997, respectively. Since 1998, Brighenti is Assistant Professor at the Department of Civil-Environmental Engineering & Architecture, University of Parma, where he teaches structural mechanics, computational mechanics, and mechanics of fracture and fatigue. His research covers the fields of computational fracture mechanics and fatigue simulation of real structural components, multiaxial fatigue modelling under cyclic or random loading, development of finite elements for fracture mechanics simulation in quasibrittle solids and structures, development of theoretical and computational models for fibre-reinforced composite, and damage mechanics modelling. He is Member of ESIS (European Structural Integrity Society) and has been Member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Fatigue (edited by Elsevier) from 2001 to 2007. He is author or coauthor of about 140 papers, published in international journals (about 60), chapters of books, or in proceedings of national and international scientific conferences.
