Richard F. Riedel is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Medical Oncology at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, NC, USA and Associate Director for Clinical and Translational Research for the Duke Sarcoma Program at the Duke Cancer Institute. Dr. Riedel received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College. His Internal medicine residency, chief residency, and hematology-oncology fellowship training were performed at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Riedel is the recipient of the Maria Garcia-Estrada Career Development Award in Sarcoma at Duke and has a clinical and research interest in using genomic strategies to identify novel therapeutics for patients with soft tissue and bone sarcoma. He is an active participant in SARC (Sarcoma Alliance for Research through Collaboration) and a member of ASCO (American Society of Clinical Oncology) and CTOS (Connective Tissue Oncology Society). Riedel is on the NCCN guidelines committee for soft tissue sarcoma and the NCCN GIST Task Force.
