Marica Bakovic

Marica Bakovic completed her B.S. degree in chemistry and her Ph.D. degree in biological chemistry at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB, Canada. She received postdoctoral awards from Medical Research Council and Alberta Heritage Foundation, Edmonton, AB, Canada. Before joining the University of Guelph, Guelph, ON, Canada, she worked in the area of molecular and cell biology of lipid metabolism at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Alberta. Currently, she serves as a Professor at the Department of Human Health and Nutritional Sciences at the University of Guelph. Bakovic has a long-lasting interest and a particular research interest in nutrition and metabolism, especially in the area of regulation of membrane phospholipids, fatty acids, and methyl-group donors.
