Rivka Oxman works as an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning at the Technion Israel Institute of Technology. She holds B.S., M.S, and D.S. degrees from the Technion. She worked as a Visiting Professor at Stanford University; Delft University of Technology, held research appointments at MIT; Berkeley, and currently spends a sabbatical at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University. She has been a Vice Dean at the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning at the Technion. Her research includes the following areas: Case-based models of design; computational and cognitive models of creativity; digital design; generative design; performance-based design; Material-based design. She serves as an Associate Editor of Design Studies, the international journal for design research in engineering, architecture, products, and systems and a member of scientific editorial boards of leading international journals and conferences. She has been invited to deliver keynote lectures around the world. Her work is widely cited and influential. In 2006, she was appointed as a Fellow of the Design Research Society (FDRS) for her contributions and established record of achievement in design research.
