Dr. Luca Agnifili is Research Fellow and scientific coordinator of the Regional Glaucoma Center at the National High-Tech Eye Center of the University G. d’Annunzio of Chieti-Pescara, in Italy. His main field of interest is Glaucoma, with the most part of research projects focused on the ocular surface changes induced by anti-glaucoma medications and their impact on the surgery outcome and quality of life. Tear film proteomics, patho-physiology of the aqueous humor outflow, and imaging of the anterior segment of the eye represent additional fields of research aimed at discovering potential biomarkers of glaucoma. Dr Luca Agnifili is one the most expert worldwide of the application of laser scanning in vivo confocal microscopy in glaucoma. His research activity resulted in more than 100 publications, most of them in peer reviewed Journals, with a current H-index of 19. Dr Agnifili covered the roles of Study Coordinator or Investigator in numerous national and international multi center clinical trials, is invited speaker in several national and international meetings, and trains residents in ophthalmology, PhD students and postdoctoral research fellows. He is Member of the Editorial Board of Current Pharmaceutical Biotechnology (IF: 2.459).
