Kyoji Ikeda

Kyoji Ikeda was born in Kyoto, Japan, in 1955. He received M.D. degree from the University of Tokyo School of Medicine, Tokyo, Japan, followed by training for internal medicine and clinical endocrinology at the affiliated hospital. Ikeda was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Yale University (Division of Endocrinology) from 1986 to 1989. In 1991, he was an Assistant Professor of internal medicine at the University of Tokyo. In 1995, he was appointed as the Head of the Department of Geriatric Research, and presently he is heading the Department of Bone and Joint Disease, National Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology (NCGG) in Aichi, Japan. He is a Member of the Japanese and the American Society of Bone and Mineral Research. His main interest includes bone biology, pathogenesis of osteoporosis, and endocrine/metabolic aspect of aging.
