Antonio Ferrante

Antonio Ferrante is Associate Professor at University of Milan, Milan, Italy, since 2016. He graduated from the University of Pisa, Pisa, Italy, in agricultural science, with the highest score 110/110 cum laude (first-class honors) in 1997. Ferrante was awarded an undergraduate scholarship from the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna (SSSA), Pisa, Italy, from 1992 to 1997. He earned the Ph.D. degree in advanced technology in horticultural science at the SSSA in 2001, with the highest score 100/100 cum laude. He worked as a Lab Technician at Dipartimento di Biologia delle Piante Agrarie, University of Pisa, from 2001 to 2003. He has got a Full Researcher/Assistant Professor position at the Department of Crop Science, University of Milan, from 2004 to February 2016. In 1995, Ferrante was awarded the Maltese Government Fellowship for short course in English. In 1997, Ferrante was awarded a fellowship (5 months) from the SSSA to conduct research in postharvest physiology of Gerbera at the Agrotechnological Research Institute, Wageningen, Netherlands. In 2000, Ferrante spent one year aboard as a Visitor Researcher at the Department of Environmental Horticulture, University of California, Davis, CA, USA, in Professor M. S. Reid's lab. In 2002, he came back for 2 months at the University of California, Davis, for continuing the research activity started in 2000. In 2003, he spent 2 months at the University of California San Diego, San Diego, CA, USA, at the Division of Biology, in Professor M. Chrispeels' lab. He has been a Member of the Italian Horticultural Society since 2001, International Society of Horticultural Science (ISHS) since 2004, and Society of Experimental Botany since 2016.
