Misao Matsushita

Misao Matsushita was born in 1953. He graduated from Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, The University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan in 1977. He received his Ph.D. degree from The University of Tokyo in 1986. He was Assistant Professor at Fukuoka University School of Medicine from 1983 to 1991 and at Fukushima Medical University from 1992 to 2002. In 1994 and 1995, he was a Visiting Research Scientist of MRC Immunochemistry unit, University of Oxford. In 2002, he was appointed Professor of Department of Applied Biochemistry, Tokai University. Matsushita's main research interests lie in the complement system in innate immunity.
