Ben Challacombe is a consultant urologist at Guy's Hosptial, London. Previously, he was a Robotic Urology Fellow at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Fulham. Prior to this, his surgical training has primarily been based around Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals in London where he performed the first randomized trial of telerobotic surgery between Guy’s and Johns Hopkins Hospitals, USA, in 2002. This formed part of his M.S. thesis of surgery on robotic surgery and telemedicine under the supervision of Professor Prokar Dasgupta. He has more than 70 peer-reviewed publications and 20 book chapters on minimally invasive and robotic urological techniques. As a robotic prostatectomies, he has helped to develop the robotic cystectomy programme both at Guy’s Hospital and in Australia. He has learnt and developed robotic techniques throughout his registrar training.
