Peter Bannas, an M.D. degree holder, is a Privatdozent (Associate Professor) at the Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology, University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE), Hamburg, Germany. His research is focused clinically on cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging and preclinically on antibody-based molecular imaging. Active clinical projects include 4D flow MRI of the aortic root in patients with Marfan syndrome. His active preclinical projects focus on nanobody-based (single-chain variable fragment) imaging and therapy of lymphomas. Dr. Bannas was awarded the Wilhelm-Conrad-Röntgen Prize through the German Roentgen Society (DRG) in 2016 for his work in the field of nanobody-based imaging of T-cells and lymphomas.
