Eric Doucet is an Associate Professor at the School of Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa, ON, Canada. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in physiology and endocrinology at Laval University in Quebec City, QC, Canada in 2001. His undergraduate and master’s training focused mostly on nutrition and physical activity. His current research program explores factors (behavioral, metabolic, and endocrine) that impede or facilitate weight loss and/or weight regain in hope of increasing the resolution potential of obesity interventions. More recently, the research activities in Doucet’s laboratory have been aimed at better documenting the role of appetite regulation in body weight control. Doucet holds a CIHR/Merck Frosst New Investigator Award, an early research award, and he is Director of the Behavioral and Metabolic Research Unit, a Canadian foundation for innovation funded laboratory. He has numerous publications in the International Journal of Obesity, Obesity Research, Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, and the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.
