Bruno L. Diaz received his B.S. degree in biology (genetics) from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brazil, and his Ph.D. degree in cellular and molecular biology (pharmacology) from Oswaldo Cruz Institute, Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brazil in 1994 and 1998, respectively. He was a Research Fellow at Brigham and Women's Hospital Division of Rheumatology, Immunology and Allergy, Boston, Mass, USA, from 1998 to 2002, and was an Adjunct Researcher at Cell Biology Division of Instituto Nacional do Câncer, Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brazil until 2006. Since 2006, Diaz has been an Assistant Professor of physiology at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro where he is the Head of the Laboratory of Inflammation and Vice Head of the Immunobiology Program at Instituto de Biof√≠sica Carlos Chagas Filho. He is mainly interested in the role of lipid mediators and the study of their regulation during the inflammatory process.
