Daniel Monceau is a senior scientist at CNRS at the Institut Carnot CIRIMAT Laboratory in Toulouse, France. His current research is focused on high-temperature oxidation of metals and more generally on degradation and protection of high-temperature materials. His activity is centerd mostly on research with about 80 published papers in international journals and on teaching materials science. He is the creator and Coeditor of the E-Materials web site (http://e-materials.ensiacet.fr/index.html) and an author of scientific softwares among which the most famous is CaRIne Crystallography. His current research deals with durability of coated superalloys (high-temperature oxidation and creep), thermal barrier coatings, and development of new coatings for alloys protection using spark plasma sintering (SPS).
