Hung Nguyen-Xuan is an Associate Professor in computational mechanics, Department of Computational Engineering, Vietnamese-German University. He is currently serving as a Visiting Professor of Sejong University, Seoul, Republic of Korea. He graduated with a B.S. degree in applied mathematics from the University of Science, Vietnam, M.S. degree in modelization of continuum, and Ph.D. degree in computational mechanics from University of Liege, Belgium. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at National University of Singapore (NUS), a Visiting Researcher at Bauhaus University Weimar, Germany, and a Research Scholar at University of Cincinnati, USA. He joined School of Engineering, Cardiff University, UK, as a Visiting Professor. His research interests include modeling and simulation of fracture and damage mechanics, computation of composite and smart structures, limit and shakedown analysis, multiscale homogenization computation, error estimation and adaptivity, and advanced discretization techniques. He has authored more than 80 peer-reviewed papers (with ISI) and some national and refereed conference proceedings papers.
