Tran X. Phuoc

Phuoc X. Tran was born in Vietnam in 1945. He received his B.S.M.E. degree from the Vietnamese Military Academy, Vietnam, in 1970, and M.S.M.E. and Ph.D. degrees in mechanical engineering from The Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Ga, USA, in 1974 and 1985, respectively. Currently, he works for the U.S. Department of Energy as a Principal Research Engineer at the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) located in Pittsburgh, Penn, USA. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor of thermal sciences at the Mechanical Engineering and Material Science Department of the University of Pittsburgh. His research and teaching experiences span a wide range of areas including combustion, laser ignition, laser nanoparticle ablation, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer.
