Yi-Jen Chen is a board-certified Radiation Oncologist. He received his M.D. degree from the National Yang-Ming University in Taiwan and Ph.D. degree from the National Tokyo Medical and Dental University in Japan. After establishing his career as a GI Surgical Oncologist in Taiwan, he then furthered his oncologic training in radiation oncology at the University of California, Irvine, CA, USA. He joined the City of Hope Medical Center in 2002, where he has specialized in radiotherapy of GI malignancies including esophageal cancer, gastric cancer, colorectal cancer, anal cancer, hepatobiliary cancers, pancreatic cancer, and gynecologic cancers. Dr. Chen has published extensively in these areas and is recognized for his expertise in GI cancers. He currently serves as a Panel Member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, which develops national guidelines for the treatment of GI cancers. He is currently a Member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He is active in clinical and translational research. Presently, he serves as a Professor of radiation oncology at City of Hope Medical Center, Duarte, California, USA.
